Please tell me you are joking about the fuel economy on premium I got GX 460 I'm getting 22 miles per gallon and I'm getting 14 miles per gallon with the trailer with three ATVs double axle and people in the car And no trailer about 22 or something's 23 per gallon. What about nice highway drive 70 mph what are you getting

I was at first super excited about the new GX, but so many 1st owner reviewers are calling out build quality issues, like ultra thin good sheet metal that flaps at high speed, and cheap plastics that break. Now I am worried the SUV will not last more than a couple of years before falling apart.

This could have used another year of design and development. Mediocre performance, poor mileage, small fuel tank, hard plastic interior, small back seat, narrow bucket seats. Lexus should thank g-d everyday BMW doesn't build an off road capable X5.

Go tap on the hood and see just how flimsy this vehicle is. You can actually see the hood flex in the wind while driving over 45 mph. Absolutely disgusting that Lexus put this junk on the market. We were excited about this car but ended up in the land cruiser instead. Wait a year for them to fix this.

I wish'ed Diablo's were still high 5 figure cars BUT I'm most likely going to end up going the kit car route due to the fact Id probably ruin a possible classic but who knows. I may end up financing one like you did because I'm def going the Tiny House route of being Mortgage/Rent free which will free up a lot of money per month.

Great investment. A early Diablo in horrible condition will cost over $150k. Your car is probably worth $250k or a little more.

Excellent deal! I remember when they were 70+. I actually bought a Gallardo over a Diablo back when they first came out. I liked the Diablo far more, it was always a dream car but servicing scared me as I put a lot of miles on stuff. Bad choice!

I own both. The GX is much more refined and my wife loves it. I drive the Terra Runner and it is still fun to drive.

Love the video! As a current X5 owner, it's great to hear the comparison in performance. I was initially leaning towards the LC for the fuel economy, but I think I'm all aboard the GX train from everything I've seen. Regarding the downshifts when overtaking, is that only in Normal or Eco modes, or is that across all modes to include Sport modes?

It might be an illusion but I believe the screens are exactly the same size. GX looks larger because the glass extends all beyond the knobs. Oh btw, your GX has a 3.4 liter, the Tundra has the 3.5, Automotive Press says they are different engines so fingers crossed that you're GX will be fine. Plus your GX is built in the same plant as the Land Cruiser back in Japan instead of Mexico like the Tundra. Edit: Sorry my bad, Tundra's built in TX.

The OT's are finally starting to trickle in Lexus dealers in Southern NY (they've all been bought so far) so tomorrow Im finally getting a chance to see (my dream) a Nori Green with black roof. Coming from a 5th gen 4runner (both built ) , I'm treating it like my last truck I may own. I'd love to get your perspective on the interior size compared to the 5th gen. My 16' 4runner is at 146K, so its time for a change....and although the 6th gens have peaked my interest....nothing like the OT!! Thanks in advance!

Is there a little red light on the dash that keeps flashing when your car is turned off? Have seen that it continually flashes once the car is turned off and no way to shut it off except to start the engine. This makes sitting in your car with the engine turned off impossible, especially at night.

I have the 2018 TRD Pro, getting the GX 550 Overtrail+ in a few weeks once it arrives. No comparison between the two vehicles as the GX 550 (at least on paper) is much better. I get 282 miles per tankful, so I don't see it as an advantage for 4Runner. I actually paid a third party to install Apple Car Play, but the tiny screen is still an issue. I'll give you the affordability as 4Runner is a third cheaper ($60K+ vs $80K+), but cost is apples vs oranges as they are two different classes of vehicles. To me the price difference for the GX 550 is worth it for what one is getting. I had also looked at the new Land Cruiser, but decided on the GX 550.

Just bought a 2024 TRD PRO in Underground last week. Already, my favorite car I have ever owned. 2024 now has heated steering wheel, Keyless entry, led lights, adaptive cruise control , lane assist, blind spot monitoring, Apple car play....the rest is pretty much the same. Just enough tech, but I love the old school vibe.

If the GX550 had the 4Runner engine it would be perfect.

Did you experience any hood flutter, several owners of the GX550 complained about that, thx.

I have a 2015 4Runner, it’s a great vehicle but I’m looking to trade up in a year or 2. I’ve honestly not used the the display for anything beyond the rear camera and depend on the otter box phone holder for the air vent to run Apple Maps 🤣

Drop a 4.6 v8 in that 4Runner and the choice is clear.

I will probably put regular unlead instead of premium and add the gas treatment about once a month.

We are in Tally Fl area and have GX 550 OT also not Plus and love it. Taken it To Savana and E Coast. Good to hear how it does at altitude.

I wonder if the LC having a battery in the back and a smaller engine up front makes it less wallowing feeling than the GX with a bigger engine up front.

Both mats are available. OEM has a dip behind the second row where 3rd row feet would be.

Any lovebug issues? Massage seats come in handy on the 2500 miles? Will you swap it for the GX 550h? OEM all weather mat or WeatherTech?
